Made it to Africa

After days of travel, I step off the plane and my feet touch African land. The rich sunlight hits me, it's thick like honey, it's the kind of light that fills your eyes to the brim and over flows. After years of dreaming ( and what seems like years of traveling), I'm here in Africa. Can't wait to see what God has planned.

Safe Arrival in Rwanda

We just received word from one of the E Squad Leaders confirming the arrival of the World Race Exposure participants headed to Rwanda to join that Squad for the month of July.  They have arrived safely and are with the World Race group.  We are so excited, it's going to be an amazing month! The group of participants going to South Africa should be arriving at their final destination later today, and we will update the blog when that happens and we hear from them.

Africa bound!

I arrived in Atlanta not fully knowing what to expect. It's been my dream to go overseas and serve people in different nations, but I didn't really think about my team and getting to work with others out there on the mission field. Once I got to the airport to meet my team, I was a little nervous, but everyone is so awesome and welcoming, and truly love each other in the way Christians should. We all came from different parts of the country, from different denominations and backgrounds, but we're all connected in one way: through Christ. When it comes down to it, He is truly all...

“So I set the world on fire…

…We can grow brighter than the SON.” Okay, FUN. May actually say “sun” instead, but I like my version better. Tonight I get on a plane for South Africa. I have vague ideas of what I am getting myself into and I’m sure the real thing will make a joke of my silly ideas anyways, so I’m really not too concerned with knowing. But because God is gracious to us and knows how to best encourage us when he asks us to step into the unknown, here is what I do know: God is bringing me into a greater version of my identity. He has been teaching me to actually...

Ain’t a thang but a chicken wang!

Here I go! We leave for Africa tonight! We just finished our day of training camp in Atlanta and ohh my goodness, golly jee! It was great I've been prophesied over and I prophesied over others. Some of you may be all like, "THAT IS AWESOME!' and some of you may say, "Oh, she's that Christian…" I totally understand, I remember looking at my brothers and sisters in Christ prophesy and thinking that's weird. But, there's something that I have come to realize. God is weird. Well, think about it. He is not of this world. Weird.  He knows all...

Sour patch kids!!

Finally met all of the teammates in Atlanta and found that all of them are awesomely unique! I’m excited to get to know everyone once inside Rwanda. I have a general sense of everyone’s personality but it’s been only one day. I wonder how we will all start to interact ince in the field but i keep praying that God ensures team unity. One excercise we did last night was listening prayer. I have nallyever done this before but basically we sit in a circle and speak what is on our mind. One person gets tapped anonymously and others tell that person what they think God is...
