How He Loves

He is jealous for me Love's like a hurricane, I am a tree Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy When all of a sudden, I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory and I realize just how beautiful You are and how great your affections are for me. Oh, how He loves us so Oh, how He loves us How He loves us so. Yeah, He loves us Woah, how He loves us Woah, how He loves us Woah, how He loves. So we are His portion and He is our prize, Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes If grace is an ocean we're all sinking So heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss and my...

Travel & Team!

After 24 hours of traveling we finally made it to JoBurg! The flights weren't bacd, lots of sleeping and movies. I got to see Mr. & Mrs. Gestring and lots of the university students I met last year in the airport! It was awesome! 🙂 2 World Racers came to get us in the airport and we drove to the hostel we were staying at for the night. It was freezing! The next morning I met some awesome people and finally got to meet my contact, Birdy. All the racers are so legit! We had some great conversations and I loved hearing about all their experiences! Saying goodbye to everyone from...

“He must increase, but I must decrease”

"He must increase, but I must decrease," is my jam verse for the following month while I am in South Africa.  This verse is such a great reminder that everything we do, we make Christ the center of our lives.  It is not about us, it is all about Him.  I just love this verse.  I pray that I will continue to let Christ be the center of my life even when I feel as if I can't do it anymore or I just get annoyed at times.  I know that He will always be there to help me get through it.  I know I couldn't do it alone. That is for sure. Thank you,...

Grace and Peace be with You

Sitting barefoot on the ice cold floor of the yoga room, we were singing praise and worship for what felt like the millionth time that week. I was mentally struggling, feeling awkward and incapable of connecting with the song we were singing. Surrounded by some of the most spiritual and amazing people I have ever met, I felt like such an outsider. These were people who told endless stories about healings and exorcisms they had witnessed and people they had prayed for. Needless to say, I felt a little out...

Humbeled and Broken in the best way possible

On the way to Beam (the organization we are working with) this my morning my heart was breaking again. I found myself angry wondering how God could allow people to live in the state that some of these so-called “houses” were in. Most of the “houses” we passed were nothing but sheets of metal pushed together with another sheet of metal on top held down my whtever rocks these people could find for a “roof”. In some places fabric was draped over sticks to make a “home” for someone. I found myself asking God why? Even the poorest of the poor in...

On this mountain of love…

I love, love, love it here. Over the past 5 days my mind has been filled with so many emotions and feelings but at the same time I’ve never been at more peace in my life. It’s incredible here.  My team is simply amazing: Katy is my “coach” who checks in on me basically everyday and keeps me motivated to do what I’m here to do, Rachel is my team leader and pretty much has all the information for me everyday, Tiffany and Justin are “the married couple” on our team (this is pretty rare on the world race) and they have been such an encouragement...
