Send me I’ll go!

I don't know how many times I have said this, but I still cannot believe I am going to Africa. How did this happen? I remember sitting in my room crying after watching a video by Invisible Children thinking to myself, "I want to do something about this." I felt deep down in my spirit that God was literally tugging me towards this mission. It was so obvious in my heart that I wouldn't be satisfied until I said yes to his plan. So here I am. 2 days away, and I will be flying halfway across the world to fulfill his word. Writing this for you guys to read. So what can I say to...

Here I am, I stand!

Isaiah 6:8 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,  "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"  And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" So I'm wait, wait, waiting to leave to South Africa. I'm ready to pounce on this opportunity that God has given me! It's so hard to wait it out a month while a lot of my friends have left to their fields. I keep reading these blogs and ask, why am I not out there yet? How come I couldn't have gone for the WHOLE summer? But, how could I ask such a question to THE ALL KNOWING GOD?! I had to do so...

Life in Sumbawanga

Hello all! First of all, I would like to thank everyone again for their prayers and their support in the last few months! You are all awesome! Things are going really well in Tanzania. We are living in Sumbawanga which is in western Tanzania. The city is surrounded by beautiful mountains, which I am excited about because we don't have those in Iowa. Exploring the city is definately a cultural experience in itself. To get to the market, we ride a bus for about 20 minutes. In America, when the seats are full, the bus is full. In Tanzania, the bus is full when literally no one else can fit...

All our participants have arrived safely in Tanzania! Here's a portion of an update received from the World Race Squad Leaders.  They met up with the participants in Turkey and completed the last leg of the journey to Tanzania together… "We have arrived safely in Tanzania!!! The Exposure participants were welcomed with singing, signs, hugs, craziness, and lots of love.
