During our one day of training down here in Atlanta, we took time to get to know each other from our team in Rwanda and also a team that is heading on down to South Africa at the same time with us. It was definitely a bit awkward talking with strangers from around the country, but we all had the common ground of taking a step of faith in going overseas to serve His kingdom.
There was this activity that we had to do during our training session where we were told to close our eyes and listen to what God was telling us about a person in the group that we were assigned to. I tried to listen, visualize, get anything to try to comprehend what God was telling me, but nothing was coming to me…it was absolutely frustrating that my other group mates were able to hear His voice and that the things that were being said about the person was truly something that was going on in their life that only God could have known.
There is something holding me back and it's absolutely frustrating that nothing seems to be coming to me while everyone else seems to have God speak to them so clearly. But that also shows that I still want things my way. God is always there for me, and I know that, but how often do we take a step back and actually listen to what He has to tell us?
I'm super stoked to be heading out to Africa with these brothers and sisters in Christ, and to be servants to everyone around us. Now I just need to go and continue to listen to what God is telling me right now. Thank you you somuch for your prayers and my partner Payje and I found out general logistics of us helping out at a church called Church of Hope with our world race group, but details are still to come!
Take time and listen…God is always speaking to you!
