Hello all!
First of all, I would like to thank everyone again for their prayers and their support in the last few months! You are all awesome!
Things are going really well in Tanzania. We are living in Sumbawanga which is in western Tanzania. The city is surrounded by beautiful mountains, which I am excited about because we don't have those in Iowa. Exploring the city is definately a cultural experience in itself. To get to the market, we ride a bus for about 20 minutes. In America, when the seats are full, the bus is full. In Tanzania, the bus is full when literally no one else can fit inside the bus. Needless to say, each bus ride is very entertaining. The market sells pretty much everything. People have individual stands in which they sell a few particular items. While walking around Sumbawanga, there is always a group of children following behind us. They aren't asking for anything, they just want to be with us. Each child seems to have so much joy despite their living situations.
The ministry we are working with is called Eden Church. We have been doing mainly street evangelism, going door to do spreading the good news about Jesus. One thing that we have discovered is that the people of Tanzania are so honored when we show up at their house. Also, they are so open to hearing about Jesus. In addition to street evangelism, we are visiting an orphanage. The children at this orphanage are pretty young, and they always get so excited upon our arrival.
Each Sunday we attend Eden Church. Their church services are so vibrant, filled with music and dancing. The people take so much pride in their church. In addition to services at the church, there are services in a field a couple miles away from where we are living. This church service looks more like a giant block party. There are so many children singing and dancing. When I finally started dancing, it must have been pretty obvious that I needed some help. Luckily, a couple new Tanzanian friends of mine came to the rescue gave me some lessons 🙂
We have a bit over a week left in Sumbawanga before we start our journey to the airport in Nairobi. Prayers over this next week are greatly appriciated! Prayers for travel, health, and the awesome people of Tanzania 🙂
Thanks again everyone, God Bless!
