It’s Time for Africa

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! My flight to Africa leaves tonight. I'm so excited to have this wonderful opportunity. I would like to start by thanking all the wonderful people in my life who made this possible. To everyone who has supported me spiritually and financially,  thank you! You are a blessing to me, my team members as well as those who we will be serving in Africa. To my mom and dad, I would like to say Thank you! thank you for believing in me. Listening…

During our one day of training down here in Atlanta, we took time to get to know each other from our team in Rwanda and also a team that is heading on down to South Africa at the same time with us.  It was definitely a bit awkward talking with strangers from around the country, but we all had the common ground of taking a step of faith in going overseas to serve His kingdom. There was this activity that we had to do during our training session where we were told to close our eyes and listen to what God was telling us about a person in the group that we were assigned to.  I tried...

“students on holiday”

Hey yhall. I have only been with adventures in missions for one day but I am having an amazing time and am excited for what God is going to do this month. My teams flight to Johannesburg leaves tonight around 7. After about a fifteen hour flight we will be in South Africa. Cape Town is known to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. While in Cape Town we will work with volunteer Mzansi, which...

Through the Sound of His Voice

God is a living God. His voice speaks into each of our lives and cannot be limited to how it is presented to us. Internally I was battling with the idea of being given the opportunity to Love orphans and the feelings of leaving behind a ministry and group of friends that I care so much about. With the reality that I would only be gone a month God began to show me what it looked...

Training Camp & Team Assignments!!

Friends and family,  I hope this blog is reaching you well! We currently are here in ATL preparing for the beginning of this exciting journey. After the Rwanda and South Africa teams met up at the airport yesterday we headed to a nearby hotel where we have been going through different spiritual training exercises. We started off last night's training with listening prayer where we were specifically waiting to speak out until God would lay something clear on our heart. This exercise was powerful in allowing us to edify each other as a team by the direct power of the Holy Spirit...

What I Leave Behind

What an incredible experience this has already been and I haven't even left for Africa yet.  God has spoken to me so much, in ways that he never has in just the 24 hours that I have been with AIM.  We are just finishing up our training in Georgia.  I got to meet the 12 amazing people that I will be traveling to Rwanda with and the other 12 who will be serving in South Africa.  During our training we went over the typical procedures and safety issues, while all that is very useful, the most powerful part of training was going over how God still speaks today.  We...
