Chillaxed to the max…

So it's day eight on the World Race exposure. Four and  a half of those days were spent traveling. Hopefully, we will be starting ministry tomorrow. I did get to go to the Center and play with  the kids for a couple of hours and had lunch with them a couple of days ago. But so far we have had so much down time.  I know the World Racers need this break becasue they are in month seven, but I am here for one month. One month to pour in and be poured into. One month to love the people I come  into contact with. Now, less than 20 days. I didn't fly across the...

Thank you Jesus!

Hey All!! I am sorry that I have not been able to post anything in a while. It has been a crazy adventure so far. After we left the hotel in Atlanta, we went to the airport to get on our flight to Johanesburg( not sure if I spelled that correctly).  We had to wait a few hours for our flight, but eventually we boarded and began our 18 hour journey!  I apparently got the short straw or unlucky ticket because everyone in our group got a seat on the plane next to eachother in the back except for me, where I was up a few rows in between two men that I have never met before  ...

Different than expected.

What ones ministry look like? Is it playing with kids or serving food to the hungry? Preaching? Leading worship? Praying? Is it building or handing out bibles or doing yard work or making videos or taking pictures or making websites? Maybe it’s cooking for your team or listening to a friend or spending time with God so you can really know the heart of your father. This is one of the biggest things I am searching out here because honestly part of me feels like I could be more effective (and more excited) to be home with my Young Lifers, hanging out with my best friends and...

“He must increase, but I must decrease”

After a full week of traveling, we finally arrived to Cape Town last Friday! It was definitely exhausting, but a blessing to have time to rest and spend some time getting to know the people I will be living with for the next month. Now we are in Ocean View for the week helping with "Holiday Club," a Bible-based camp for kids and teens. The organization putting it on, called Living Hope, is faithfully doing God's work by serving this community by providing sustainable reasources and education to the next generation. It has been a blessing to be with them and see the impact that...

A million little hugs a day.

Every morning we take a thin, narrow, path through banana trees, corn stock, and other plants. It isn't a straight path, it isn't a flat path, and it isn't and easy walk. After we go through the thin path, we get on this wider path with people walk different directions. Make sure you don't get run over by a bike taxi. You have to move out of the way because they wont stop, but if their nice they will at least honk at you to get out of the way. Along this crazy busy path way that we walk each day and children, tons and tons of children. The first day we were here some of the...

Holy Moley!

Moraho! Vite (Hi how are you?!)    The past couple days have been very interesting. A preacher from Kigali (Capital of Rwanda) came in and spoke for 3 nights. Oh and just so you know, they have church every evening and twice on Sunday. Anyway this preacher seemed very nice but as he went on with his sermons we realized something. He was barely using The Word and when he was, it was to back up what HE was saying, most the time it was out of context. He would just go on and on about stories of himself and it just didn't seem right. He went on talking about sacrifices and how we...
