Friends and family,
I hope this blog is reaching you well! We currently are here in ATL preparing for the beginning of this exciting journey. After the Rwanda and South Africa teams met up at the airport yesterday we headed to a nearby hotel where we have been going through different spiritual training exercises. We started off last night's training with listening prayer where we were specifically waiting to speak out until God would lay something clear on our heart. This exercise was powerful in allowing us to edify each other as a team by the direct power of the Holy Spirit speaking through us! Though this was not something new for me I realized that listening prayer is something we all could do more of for sure. After all, why wouldn't we be seeking after God's clear direction in our daily lives and to build up the lives of others around us?
Last night we all found out our specific trip and ministry assignments for the month of July and I'm so excited to tell you that Kyle Tubb (my ministry partner) and I will be staying on the coast of the Indian Ocean in the city of Durban, South Africa and will be ministering to youth through daily camping adventures! How awesome?! We will be partnering with Team Unveiled Pursuit to impact the lives of local South African kids through Higher Ground Ministries and our team will be comprised of eight people including Kyle and myself. Please begin to lift up our team in prayer (especially Becca Burger, our team leader) that we will NEVER hesitate to God prompts as we minister and spiritually pour into the locals in the city of Durban and in the small surrounding villages.
Tonight Kyle and I (and the other South Africa peeps) are flying out of ATL around 7:30 and will be arriving in Johannesburg, South Africa tomorrow morning where we will be for one day… and then flying to Manzini, Swaziland where we will meet Team Unveiled Pursuit and travel across the border into South Africa toward the Durban area.
If this training camp is only the beginning of experiencing the miraculous power of God to speak clearly and powerfully through us then I honestly don't know what to expect in the next month and I am completely content with that. Please lift me up in prayer daily that the Lord would reck my heart until I'm fully and completely reliant on Him alone and that He would continue breaking down the box I put Him in. Thank you!
Until next time,
Wesley
