So I am still getting used to this blogging thing, but here goes!
In 8 days I will, along with the rest of my team (WR exposure Passport team) will be heading to Atlanta, GA for training before heading to East Africa to meet with the rest of the amazing people that we will be serving besides in Rwanda! I am so excited and a little nervous, but I know God has amazing plans!!
This will be the longest I will be out of the country and away from family. This will also be the first time I buy plane tickets and fly on a plane alone. Luckily it is only to Atlanta and back.
I am not all sure yet what I will be doing while I am in Rwanda, but when I find out I will be sure to update everyone on this blog!
The Lord is preparing me. He is preparing my heart and allowing me to go through trials to produce endurance in my faith so I am finding joy in that. James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
I have a prayer request, but first I want to say "Thank you" to everyone who has supported me through this, from financial support, to words of encouragement, and most of all the many prayers. I wouldn't be going on this trip with out all of you. Last year my parents said no to going to Africa after being accepted and getting ready to go. After a year of prayer I fell that God softened their hearts and I have been blessed to go to Africa twice this Summer, this trip being my second. Through your prayers and financial support God used you to provide for this trip. I am still in awe of how it all came in even when coming onto the team late in the year. He provided on His timing, in His own way. So thank you all for all that you have blessed me with!
To my prayer request. Besides the fact that I am getting a little nervous about flying alone and going across the ocean with people I have never met before (which these feelings are not from the Lord I know and I am anxious in a good way) my wisdom teeth decided to start coming in and are causing a lot of pain and swelling. I am praying that I can get the one that is causing trouble, pulled so that it wont be a annoyance while in Africa. I also have yet to find someone close by to distribute my yellow fever vaccine, so I need prayer for that as well. (As soon as I typed this my mother called saying that there is a doctor who is open on Monday that can to the vaccine) So now I am praying that I can get an appointment and that it doesn't interfere with the dentist. God is so good!
Thanks for reading and praying for me, I couldn't asked for more! Your prayers mean so much!
Now to finish packing! 😀
In Christ,
Sharel
